When we got the call about five tiny Husky mix puppies rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, we knew we couldn’t say no. The shelter they were in was already overflowing with more than 60 dogs, and these fragile little ones desperately needed a safe place to land. That’s when Passion for Paws stepped in and welcomed them into our Pack. At just 8 weeks old, these pups, four girls and one boy, are gentle, sweet, and still a little timid after all they’ve been through. Sadly, they’ve already faced more than any puppy should. They were infested with worms, and two of the girls have mild juvenile heart murmurs that will require ongoing veterinary monitoring. Together, we can complete Mission Pawsible and give these little survivors the futures they’ve been waiting for.

Ollie is only 3 months old, but his short life has already been filled with heartbreak. He was found abandoned at a shelter in Laval, left behind after his family (parents and siblings included) were surrendered. Ollie, the runt of the litter, was hiding a painful secret. After his previous owners left, shelter staff noticed he had a severe deformity in his back leg. His paw was so malformed and shortened due to a rare condition called congenital hemimelia that he was forced to walk on the exposed part of his limb, causing a deep, painful ulcer. After consulting with multiple veterinarians and an orthopedic surgeon, we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision: Ollie’s leg needs to be amputated. It’s the only way he can live a long, pain-free, and fulfilling life. With the amputation, he’ll finally be free from the constant discomfort and risk of infection. And with physiotherapy, he’ll adapt and thrive, just like the fighter he’s already proven to be. But we can’t do this without you.

Meet Joey and Chandler, two adorable three-month-old Labrador Shepherd brothers who have already captured our hearts. These pups came into our care after being kept outdoors in neglectful conditions. When we found them, they were dehydrated, painfully thin, and bloated with worms. Our amazing community came together and we were able to find foster homes for them all in one night! Now that they are safe, we have begun the long process of getting them properly vetted so that they can officially start their news lives.

Meet Bean, a brave 4-month-old, 12-pound mixed breed pup with a heart full of resilience. Bean’s journey hasn’t been easy. Three weeks ago, he started limping, indicating something was wrong. His previous family took him to the vet but refused X-rays to diagnose the issue. Instead, Bean was sent home with pain medication and instructions to return if the limp persisted after four days. Sadly, they never returned.

Fast forward to over two weeks later, a much-needed X-ray revealed the heartbreaking truth: Bean had been limping with a shattered patella all along. Due to the neglect and delay in treatment, the only viable option was to amputate his leg. His previous family, confronted with the daunting costs of surgery, made the decision to leave Bean at the vet's office.

Ginger is a gentle, 5-year-old German Shepherd who’s been living in pain for far too long. Years ago, Ginger tore her ACL, a devastating injury that, left untreated, can turn every step into agony. Her family did their best. They tried joint supplements, medications, and costly injections, but nothing worked. Ginger has spent most of her life limping through the pain, unable to run, jump, or play for long periods of time like a normal dog. Now, Ginger is being rehomed so she can have a second chance at the life she deserves. But before she can truly begin again, she needs surgery to repair her torn ligament and free her from the constant ache that’s followed her for years. We want Ginger’s new chapter to begin with hope, not hurt. No more pain. No more limitations. Just the joy of walking, running, and being loved without discomfort.

Diego came into our care under heart-wrenching circumstances. He came to us emaciated, neglected, and in dire need of immediate medical attention.
